Moon Base Capital

Surface Level Plan

Living Quarters Section

Moon Base Capital
1/8
The Moon Capital design was submitted for a competition with the goals of creating a second generation living and working habitat on the moon. The capital consisted of spaces from surface agriculture domes to below grade living clusters. The main design features a winding jogging path which intersects the domes, creating an ever changing view, a two story atrium space connecting the surface and below grade spaces, and compartmentalized living clusters which can be closed off for emergency life support. Each agricultural surface dome featured a light well centered over a living cluster or other major working and support spaces to provide natural light underground.
